What is Hidayatullah?– Islamic organization

I am pretty sure that you are here because of you are wondering or you are searching about an Islamic organization called Hidayatullah.

Well, I do not guarantee that this post will satisfy you, but let me help you a little bit. I will write any important things to know about Hidayatullah—that I know—here. You will not only find many common things you could probably find in another Islamic organization but also “odd” things.

Hidayatullah, in general definition is an Islamic organization under the principle of Al-Qur’an and As-Sunnah along The believe of Ahlus Sunnah Waljama’ah. As an organization, Hidayatullah spread Islam and dakwah by following Manhaaj Nabawi (Nubuwwah) with the Wahyu Systematic as the tarbiyah action guidance.

Hidayatullah is formed with the vision, to build Islamic civilization. At first, it was an Islamic boarding school built by Abdullah Said in Gunung Tembak, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Janury 7^th, 1973.

Yes, in Kalimantan.

Now, you might become curious of why you find so many Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School almost in all over the provinces, or even small islands in Indonesia like Mentawai, Alor island, Longos-Labuan Bajo, Lingga, etc.

So, in the expansion of Islam and Hidayatullah, Abdullah Said sent his students every year to spread Islam in all over the districts and provinces in Indonesia. Especially, the districts where Islam is known as the minority. In those districts, the students sent was tasked to spread Islam and also to build boarding school. That’s how Hidayatullah is found in over the 100 districts in Indonesia.

In its 27^th years, Hidayatullah held the first Hidayatullah National Conference in Balikpapan on 9-13 of July, 2000. As the output of the conference, Hidayatullah fostered its management and then declared itself as the Islamic organization.

Hidayatullah now, has 5 colleges where students are trained to be the cadres of Hidayatullah. The colleges are; Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu ekonomi Hidayatullah Depok, Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Lukman Al-Hakim Surabaya, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Syariah Hidayatullah Balikpapan, and Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Tarbiyyah Batam. For the last, STT STIKMA in Malang.

Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding Schools are divided in many grades from elementary school, junior high school, senior high school and universities or colleges. Kindergarten students are not boarding-schooled. They live with parents and go to school in the times required. Hidayatullah also has Tahfidz Boarding School where students come, just to memorize Al-Qur’an with a little extra subjects given.

The teaching system in Hidayatullah is based on the modern Islamic boarding school system, where the general subjects required by the Ministry of Education and Cultural of Republic Indonesia is bundled with Islamic subjects required in every Hidayatullah institutions.
